Foryoueats

Software for the way people really cook.

We build calm, practical tools for home kitchens — starting with a free recipe manager that keeps everything you cook in one place, and out of the way until you need it.

What we do

A small company with a narrow focus.

Cooking software has a habit of getting in the cook's way — ads between steps, accounts you didn't ask for, recipes that vanish when a site goes down. We're building the opposite.

Recipe management

The Foryoueats app is the core of what we do: save a recipe from anywhere, edit it into the version you actually cook, and find it again in seconds.

Planning & shopping

Plan the week from recipes you've already saved, then turn that plan into a shopping list you can actually take to the store.

Your data, portable

Everything you put in comes back out. Export your collection whenever you like, in a format you can read without us.

The product

Foryoueats, the recipe manager.

Our flagship product lives at foryoueats.com. It's where the company's work shows up for people who cook — a single, quiet home for a growing recipe collection.

The corporate site you're reading now covers the business behind it: who we are, how we operate, and how to reach us.

How we work

Principles we actually hold to.

The cook comes first

Every decision gets checked against one question: does this help someone get dinner on the table? Features that only help us don't ship.

Free, on purpose

Foryoueats is free to use. Everything is getting more expensive, and a tool for figuring out dinner shouldn't add to that. We'll need to earn something one day to keep it running, and there will always be a free version worth using. However we end up doing it, the test is the same one we use for features: is this still good to cook with?

Two people

Foryoueats is a husband and wife, not a department. We ship carefully and answer our own support email, and we're not trying to grow past the point where that's still true.

The point is feeding people

We're not trying to build a big company. We're trying to help people eat — starting with whoever's making dinner tonight, and, as we're able to, with people who don't have enough of it.

Nothing held hostage

Your recipes are yours. Export is a feature, not a retention lever, and we treat your data as something we're looking after rather than something we own.
